9 Fashion Trends That Will Be Everywhere in 2025: Sailor Chic, Cherry Girl, & More

Fashion trends come, and fashion trends go, but can you believe it’s already 2025? If you’ve got whiplash from how quickly we went from Brat summer to New Year’s Eve, you’re not alone — we’re right there with you, but we’re definitely ready to start planning our 2025 outfits and aesthetics.
To get you started on your journey, we prowled through all sorts of expert trend research, including Pinterest Predicts, Google’s 2024 search data (fun to revisit where we were and where we’re going), The Real Real’s resale report, as well as Depop’s 2025 trend report. We referred to some of our favorite runway shows, always a key indicator of what you’ll find on the racks of your favorite stores in the coming year. Of course, you can’t forget about TikTok, which is a major driver of aesthetics and trends like the mob wife, clean/vanilla girl, and office siren; it’s also a great way to see what your peers are into.
One notable insight for 2025 is that maximalism is back in a big way, no matter which aesthetic you align with most. We’re ditching quiet luxury in favor of rich colors, loud statement accessories, and a sense of fun. Leopard print isn’t going anywhere, and (surprisingly!) neither is Barbiecore… with a twist, anyway. There’s a trend for everyone, and we can’t wait to see how you make them your own. Ahead, check out some of our favorite fashion trends for 2025.
1. Future Forward

2025? More like 3025! We’ll be looking to the future with the Y3K aesthetic, which began in mid-2024 and shows no signs of slowing down. Just like the Jonas Brothers sang about back in the day, travel to the year 3000 with a mashup of forward-thinking looks.
The easiest way to incorporate the Y3K aesthetic into your wardrobe is with shiny silver and metallic touches, whether that’s with a sleek metal bag or silver pants. But the trend also encompasses a more dystopian vibe, with unexpected, destroyed shapes and silhouettes that make it look like you survived the apocalypse. Mix utilitarian pieces like cargo pants with jackets and tops in cool, edgy shapes for a fun juxtaposition that feels straight out of the next century.
